what is CBCS ? Why it is important

We all of you know that nagarjuna university had introduced to CBCS syllabus from this academic year on words. So, here is some brief history of  CBCS or the importance of  CBCS.




What is lacking in the present system ? ( in the old syllabus)


                         The old syllabus system have lot of disadvantages and they won't suitable for the present need and technology enhancement. So, when the students comes old syllabus knowledge they are unable to serve in the new world and hence increasing of unemployment. Here are some of the lacking in the present system.

  • Lacks context based approach
  • There are no opportunities for
  1. Group work
  2. Project work
  3. Data collection
  4. Filed work
  5. Quizzes
  6. class tests
  7. Community involvement

UGC Choice Based Credit System


                      CBCS provides cafeteria type approach in which the students can choose courses of their own interest, learn at their own place, undergoing additional courses and acquire more skills and adopt an interdisciplinary approach in learning.

What is a credit ?


             The term credit has a connotation of achievement or  earning. It is also implies successful completion of a course of study measured in terms of class room instructions hours/week in the courses being student in that semester.
